Busy Weekend Downtown with More Than 60,000 Visitors
Last updated on September 25, 2026
WHAT:
Downtown Orlando is preparing for a busy weekend, with more than 60,000 people expected to visit the urban core from September 25–27, 2026 for a lineup of events, including concerts, a sporting event, performances and other experiences at Kia Center, Inter.co Stadium and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
With several major events taking place throughout the weekend, motorists and visitors should expect busier roads and heavier activity across downtown.
Big weekends like this are part of what makes downtown Orlando a destination for residents, professionals and visitors alike. Major events bring thousands of people into the urban core, creating opportunities for local restaurants, businesses and venues while adding energy and excitement to downtown.
It’s all part of the progress happening downtown. As projects associated with the DTO Action Plan continue to take shape, weekends like this are a chance to see the progress and experience downtown as a vibrant place to gather, connect and enjoy everything the area has to offer.

PLAN AHEAD:
Visitors and those who work downtown are encouraged to leave earlier than usual and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Those attending events are also encouraged to arrive early and consider visiting a downtown restaurant or business before their event.
Construction associated with the DTO Action Plan and other projects throughout downtown may also affect travel routes and create additional delays. Before heading downtown, visitors can check the City of Orlando’s road closure information for current impacts.
CONSIDER ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION:
Driving isn’t the only way to get around downtown.
SunRail is an option for those attending events on Friday, September 25, with service connecting downtown Orlando to communities throughout Central Florida. Visitors should check the SunRail schedule and plan for their return trip, including the last train departure.
The free LYMMO bus circulator also provides connections between downtown restaurants, venues, parking and other destinations, including a stop at Kia Center.
PLAN PARKING BEFORE YOU ARRIVE:
Those driving downtown are encouraged to plan their parking before arriving. Downtown offers a variety of parking garages, surface lots and on-street spaces, as well as reserve-and-pre-pay event parking.
Parking availability may be more limited during a busy event weekend, so visitors should allow extra time to find a space and walk or connect to their final destination.
